Well I had big bloggin plans today, however they were literally "CUT" short! I wanted to give a recap of things complete with pictures, however that will have to wait. I got a call this morning from Mark, who fortunately was working with David, who said "David cut his wrist, its really deep, I've tied it off to try to stop some of the bleeding and we are applying pressure to it. We are waiting for the ambulance to get here." And that was that. So I quick called Lisa, who was a lifesaver, to see if she could come over with the kids. Made phone calls to people who should know, and ran around getting things ready to leave. Mark called back to tell me that he was in the ambulance on his way to the ER at Lancaster General. About 5 mins before I left, my mom called to tell me that she left work and was going with me. You know, it seems to take me no time at all to get to the mall (which isn't far from the hospital for you that don't live around here) but today the drive seemed to be double! I got to the ER, went back to his room to find a nurse holding his arm, wrapped in gauze, straight up in the air, applying pressure. When I walked around to the side of his bed, there was blood EVERYWHERE. The ER doc had been in and he called for a ortho consult. After the consult it was determined that a tendon had been cut and he would need surgery to repair it. So we waited, I made a few phone calls, and then off he went to surgery. The surgery took about 1.5-2 hours and after talking to the doctor we found out that by God's grace, David, just missed cutting a bundle of nerves and his major artery by a hair. So this situation could have been way worse than what it was. The funny story out of this is that when Mark called 911 he told them that his buddy slit his wrist. So the first person to them was a police officer who asked if he had done this on purpose! They both laughed and told him what happened. So at least there was no phsyc evaluation needed!!!
Well I'm exhausted, it's been a long day and I'm not ready to take on tomorrow....I need sleep! So off to bed I go with high hopes about blogging tomorrow what I intended to do today!
