First let me say....HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!! What a nice Saturday, snow and all....I'm focusing on being positive because I am really not digging the snow!!! But we really have had a nice day so far. Owen and Cooper played at a friend's house for a while this morning, then home for lunch and we were off to the Wilkinson's house for the boys to enjoy sledding....HOWEVER, I think that sledding has lost its appeal! This snow has been harder to sled in than the last one since there was so much ice last time, it made for fast and fun sledding. This time, well it takes some perserverance to pack it down and since Owen was actually crying yesterday because it was snowing, there was no perservering today!! Yes he really did cry saying that it wasn't fair, the other day he got to wear shorts and he wanted to be able to wear shorts and eat a popsicle!! Yeah buddy....I feel your pain!! But such is life, so I have decided that for my kids benefit that my perspective needed to change since I know that I often contribute to the general tone of the house! So last night I opened Lisa's sliding glass door and just listened...I love the peacefulness of a snowfall and I really did miss that last time. Last snow storm was such a mess that there really wasn't the peaceful quality that I typically enjoy during a snowstorm. This time there was, so I'm thankful that I got to "enjoy" it! Then today, because of the snow, we got to go spend some time getting to know John and Nikki and their kids. It was very nice and the kids played AWESOME together...no fighting and carrying on, just quiet lego building and if you know my kids, you know that quiet usually isn't used in the same sentence when referring to them!!!
Now we are home and Owen...WITHOUT FUSSING...did some reading for his reading contest at school and is off to play with another friend (Cooper's going too) and Grady and Emma are down for their naps. Which means I need to get my tail off the computer and go do something fun...LIKE SCRAPBOOK and WATCH MARCH MADNESS!!!! Even though my Dukies bit the dust early this is still one of my FAVORITE weekends of the year!!!
I certainly thought of you the other night when Duke went down! SO SORRY! I'm definitely enjoying the March Madness more this year than ever as I sit and nurse and burp and nurse and burp the baby! :-) I also think what a great time for Trey to have his bdays every year - March Madness! There have been some exciting games!
