Last Mother's Day David gave me a gc to Serenity Garden spa...up until a few months ago, I was Emma's main food group, so me being gone for six hours just wasn't an option. When she finally decided that there were other food groups, I figured I might as well wait until open toe shoes were in season (since a pedicure was included). So I had an apt. scheduled about three weeks ago, however I just couldn't make babysitting work so I had to call and reschedule. Today was the day...I was sooo looking forward to it after quite a hectic few weeks. However Grady woke up around 2 a.m. crying that his ear hurt (he just got off medicine two days ago for an ear infection). At 3 a.m. after medicine and a little warm olive oil in his ear, he was settled and I was wide awake stressing about the fact that I was to go to the spa. I knew that a dr. apt. was a must, however I knew that I couldn't cancel on her on the day of, after having canceled the day before last time. So I started praying, knowing that I wouldn't be able to go and really relax and enjoy myself with my baby being so sick. What to do??? I finally had peace when I felt like God gave me a solution. Well this morning, David and I talked and he said he would take Grady to the doctor for me...but I didn't feel like that was the answer. Anyway got a call from the owner of the spa telling me that the girl who does the facials had called in sick and wouldn't be able to do it today. She told me I could still come and get the massage and pedicure or I could reschedule the whole thing. Ok that was totally a God thing!!! Without hesitation I rescheduled and I was able to do my mom job (which I really felt compelled to do) and yet NOT have to cancel!!! So cool.
Our doctor visit showed either another ear infection or the last one never went away. Its his right ear, which is his really bad ear. It was the one that took long to heal after his tubes were put in and it was the one that even with tubes in got infected. At his last apt. two weeks ago we found out that that tube fell out...so here we go again. When he woke up from his nap his LEFT ear (that was supposedly clear at his dr. apt.) had stuff draining from it. By dinner it was so bad that it was literally dripping out of his ear and making the shoulder of his shirt wet. Called the doctor and I need to put drops in it. I have an apt. next Friday with the ENT who put his tubes in. So we shall see. I feel so bad for him, he's so sweet and such a trooper. Everytime stuff drips out of his ear he says "feel better, Mommy". I think that some pressure may be relieved when it drains. Makes me sad!!!
